STANARDSVILLE, Va. (August 13, 2014) – Renaissance Assisted Living and The Harbor at Renaissance of Greene County will host an Asset Planning Seminar for veterans and surviving spouses interested in learning more about VA Aid & Attendance benefits. The seminar will be held on Thursday, August 21, and will begin at 6:30 p.m. Renaissance Assisted Living is located at 118 William Mills Drive in Stanardsville.
VA Aid & Attendance benefits are available to wartime veterans and surviving spouses to help pay for assisted living and nursing home costs, this may also include care for Alzheimer’s disease and dementia related disorders.
Eligibility requirements and dealing with excess assets will be the focus of the seminar led by Jeremy Shipp, president and founder of Harbor Estate Services, a private retirement and estate planning firm based in Richmond.
“There is a lot of confusion and misconceptions about how we do our financial planning in a manner that allows an individual to legitimately access the benefits while still allowing the family to have access and control of the excess assets,” says Shipp.
“Renaissance Assisted Living and The Harbor want to be a resource to the community for all issues related to the golden years,” says Liesa Dodson, Marketing Director for Renaissance Assisted Living and The Harbor. “It is a privilege to serve members of the Greatest Generation, and we want to do that with honor, respect, faith and integrity. This seminar is just another way for us to fulfill our mission.”
